Supply fans main purpose is to bring in a proportional amount of supply air to help in balancing the hood system out. Although it is not necessary to provide a dedicated supply fan with every hood system it helps to lessen the load on the building HVAC systems. Supply fans are configured to bring in a percentage of the air exhausted by the hood to keep the system requirements on the building HVAC to minimum. Each hood system requires a different percentage based on hood model, cooking load, and system design. Select Air Systems is able to help in determining if a supply fan and what type best suits the application.

- Non-tempered MUA – Is the basic version of bringing in the supply air required. This unit does not heat or cool the incoming air. This units come standard with aluminum mesh filters inlets to remove debris from being introduced into the system.
- Tempered MUA – Is the next step in bringing in the supply air. These units come with various configurations. Including being able to heat the incoming air, cool the incoming air, or to heat and cool the air. These units also have filtered intakes similar to a non-tempered unit, however upgrades to filters are available to filter the air further.
