Starters

A motor starter is an electrical device that safely starts, stops, and protects an electric motor, typically by providing overload protection and controlling power to the motor through a contactor. It consists of a contactor to switch the motor on and off, an overload relay to monitor current and prevent damage from overheating.

  • Motor Contactor – Contactors are used to switch the motor on and off. These are coupled to an overload which provides overload protection of the motors.
  • Motor Overload – Overloads are coupled with contactors in order to provide the required overload protection. Overloads have an adjustable range to cover multiple amp ranges.
When coupled together you have a completed starter for each motor required for your system.
